Corel Painter

As mentioned above, Corel Painter is available for Microsoft’s Windows operating system (it is available for 32-bit Windows editions and for 64-bit Windows editions) and for Apple’s Mac OS X. Both versions are free to use for a trial period of 30-days. It is worth noting here that Corel has several other Painter products to offer: Painter Lite, created exclusively for aspiring digital artists, Painter Essentials, an easy-to-use home art studio for drawing and painting, and Painter Mobile, Android app that allows you to sketch and paint on the go.

Corel Painter’s interface has a familiar layout: the image you’re working on is presented front and center; drawing tools are presented all around. It’s an interface layout that is widely used by applications of this type and that means you will immediately feel at home with Corel Painter’s interface. Here’s a tip: you can customize the interface from the Preferences Menu, the Interface submenu; and from the Window menu you can pick and choose what elements are displayed on the interface.

You can get started with a blank canvas and draw anything you want or you can load an existing image and draw on it. Either way, Corel Painter gives you all the tools you need to express your creativity: access to a very large collection of brushes; flip, rotate, resize the canvas; use as many layers as you want; apply one or more effects to the image; adjust or correct the colors; and more. When you’re done working on your drawing, you can save it as a JPEG, PNG, PSD, or another graphics format. You can also export it or email it.

Corel Painter, as mentioned above, is free to use for a trial period of 30 days.
When you’re done installing Corel Painter on your PC and you want to launch the application, you will be asked to register your copy. Whenever you close the Corel Painter trial, you will be reminded that you’re using a trial version and you will be invited to purchase a license.
